Rather than applying a standard doubler directly over the worn area — which would add material to the worn surface and accelerate further wear — Pt21 Solutions installed a 0.063" titanium sheet doubler from the outer side, overlapping an existing edge repair and sharing its original rivet holes.

Classified as a minor modification, the repair has zero impact on structural safety, weight or aerodynamics, providing an elegant, long-lasting fix.

Scope of Work

  • Left-hand thrust reverser Upper Bifurcation Panel assessment
  • 0.063" titanium sheet doubler design, installed from the outer side
  • Overlap with existing edge repair, sharing original rivet holes
  • Classification and certification as a minor modification
